Local news: Should we extend the death penalty to people that kill innocent toddlers? Here is the article about a Somerswoth NH man that was just sentenced to 30 years in prison for smothering his girlfriends two year old.

  1. I don't believe that we should extend the death penalty to this man. If we did, we would be sinking to his level by killing people who kill people because killing people is wrong. I do believe, however, that he should get more than 30 years in jail. He should be charged with life With no chance for parole. If you kill a criminal, that's it, they're done, there's no further punishment because they're gone. It's the easy way out for them. They would be dead, so there would be no repurcussions of their actions after death. However, if you keep them in jail without killing them, they are constantly forced to face and think about what they've done, which I believe is a much worse punishment.
